As the premier university in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the German Sport University Cologne is a unique institution in Germany with a diverse research spectrum and approximately 6,000 students.

It is also internationally recognized as one of the top universities in its field.

The Vice-Rectorate for Communication, Digitalization, and Diversity is seeking a full-time Deputy Information Security Officer (f/m/d) to join our team.

This position has a regular working week of 39 hours and 50 minutes and is available immediately on a permanent basis.

Deputy Information Security Officer (f/m/d)

Your main responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the university's information security status and documenting the results.

You will also provide guidance and training on information security matters to employees and students.

Additionally, you will be involved in updating the university's information security concept and in processes for monitoring and ensuring the legal and data protection-compliant use and security of IT resources.

You will represent the Information Security Officer in risk and emergency management for information security.

Furthermore, you will analyze and monitor information security incidents and support the Information Security Officer in internal (management level) and external (authorities) communication.

You will also be involved in business processes that impact information processing and in the implementation of new IT systems and applications.
