    About the Maintenance Technician Role

    We are excited to be seeking a skilled maintenance technician to join our dynamic team of Fivers at Avenue5. As a dynamic third-party multifamily property management firm with locations across the United States, we take pride in our vibrant and inclusive culture where we listen to our associates, invest in their growth, and celebrate their successes.

    Maintenance Technician Responsibilities and Objectives

    • Perform various maintenance functions including repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.
    • Execute general carpentry duties like wallboard repair, cabinet replacement, and finish carpentry.
    • Conduct proactive preventative maintenance such as painting, lighting, and pool maintenance.
    • Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintain cleanliness and safety standards of the property.
    • Respond to property emergencies and communicate effectively with maintenance leadership.
    • Promote safety and risk management in compliance with regulations.
    • Participate in on-call maintenance assignments and uphold customer satisfaction standards.
    • Build positive relationships with residents and uphold a professional demeanor at all times.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of one year of experience in property management or related field.
    • General maintenance and carpentry skills.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Proficiency in English.
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Basic mathematical and multitasking skills.
    • Capability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
    • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance.
    • Completion of Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity, and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.

    Scheduling

    • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
    • Availability for on-call duty during staffing shortages.

    Environment

    • Exposure to various weather conditions and working environments.
    • Potential contact with communicable diseases and challenging situations.
    • Possible exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards, and mechanical equipment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform various physical tasks daily.
    • Visual and auditory acuity for safety and communication.
    • Tolerance for stressful situations and ability to work independently.
