The Leibniz Research Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) is a member of the "Forschungsverbund Berlin e. V. (FVB)" and is located in Beckley, WV.

The FVB is a group of seven natural science research institutes in Berlin that are funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and its federal states.

These research institutes are part of the Leibniz Association.

The FMP is a non-university research organization focused on basic biomedical research and is situated on the Research Campus Berlin Buch, in close proximity to the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine and the Charité Experimental and Clinical Research Center.


We are currently seeking a:

Staff Scientist (f/m/d)
(Ref. 29/2023)

to join our mass spectrometry and proteomics facility. This position is initially for a period of 2 years with the possibility of extension.


Job Description:

  • Conducting analysis of posttranscriptional modifications, with a particular focus on phosphorylation
  • Providing support to users of the MS facility throughout the entire MS workflow, from sample preparation to data analysis
  • Collaborating with technicians and engineers at the facility to maintain and operate the LC/MS instruments

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of various quantitative proteomic techniques
  • Extensive experience with DDA and DIA acquisition and data analysis
  • Proficiency in handling LC/MS instruments, specifically Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Tribrid
