***: Maintains the center and grounds in such a way to ensure every child and family who enters our facilities has a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that supports their educational growth and development. Promotes safety practices and works with supervisor to maintain building systems.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs general cleaning of the Center to include floors, bathrooms, and fixtures.
- Sanitizes required areas.
- Follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules including, but not limited to, the classrooms, kitchen, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas and entrances.
- Performs regular safety checks of the facility and grounds to ensure a safe environment. Monitor building security and safety to ensure hazards are not created.
- Empties trash containers.
- Replenishes items needed in bathrooms and classrooms.
- Maintains inventory of custodial supplies and other items as directed by the supervisor.
- Follows a general maintenance schedule to ensuring all maintenance is performed to maximize the efficiency of the facility.
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to keep in good repair and identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May perform outside work such as lawn maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Perform general maintenance work to include painting, cleaning equipment, basic plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and equipment repair.
- Perform minor repairs. Move and assemble furniture.
- Strips, waxes, and buffs floors.
- May assist in the coordination of building projects and renovations.
- Monitor building operating systems and notify supervisor concerning the need for routine maintenance or major repairs. Works with supervisor to secure maintenance contracts.
- Work with center supervisor to ensure building inspections are conducted.
- May perform deliveries.
- May perform shipping and receiving duties.
- Protects the safety of children by implementing active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.
- The person in this position must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Assist in the mobilization and documentation of matching-in-kind funds.
- Fills in on a temporary basis for facility staff when the staff member needs to leave the classroom for a short duration.
- Participates in staff meetings, committees and training sessions.
- Assists with parent engagement.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Works in cooperation with supervisor to develop and document progress on professional development plan. Actively engages in professional development activities in accordance with Corporation's Core Values.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no direct supervisory duties but is expected to train or explain work procedures to others.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- No formal education is required but must be able to follow standard practices and instructions, keep routine records and communicate with staff, parents, and children.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is recommended.
- Must be able to get certification for CPR and First Aid after hire and recertify as required.
- Four years general maintenance and/or custodial experience
Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Office products
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Standing for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time.
- Lifting up to 55 pounds
- Moving through the Center and classrooms.
- Occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions
- Exposure to blood, other bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals and dirt.

Positions that Require Driving:
- Telamon Corporation / TRC employees that are required to drive a personal vehicle for workrelated duties are to meet the auto insurance liability requirement. The minimum limits required are $100,000 each person bodily injury, $300,000 each accident bodily injury and $50,000 property damage. The insurance liability requirement covers use of an employee's personal vehicle.
- Telamon Corporation/TRC employees that drive a companyowned/rental vehicle must maintain a satisfactory annual motor vehicle record check.
- Must have own transportation, a valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance.
