POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with shipping practices and requirements and receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Constant standing and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, balancing, push/pulling, reaching and lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Occasional below waist level work, use of fine motor skills, and forceful motion.
  • Minimal foot use, climbing, carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Proven ability to selfdirect workload.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with other employees.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic problem solving skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic reading skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Practical understanding of shop mathematics.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including holidays and weekends).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • One plus years' shipping/receiving and warehouse experience.
  • Experience with a bar code scanning system.
  • Experience with online freight scheduling systems.
  • Ability to load a truck for shipment.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, and returned goods; check purchased stock and finished items, equipment, supplies, and returned goods. Check goods received to purchase orders or receiving slips, maintain records and prepare necessary receiving reports and inventory transactions. Check quantity, type, size, part number, dimensions, etc. to properly identify materials. Route or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing locations.
  • Participate in warehouse and storage maintenance and organization including following stock rotation procedures and verifying all stock is store in proper location.
  • Enter inventory and other data into the computer accurately and perform other computer related functions.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Look for methods to improve and promote quality; monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Responsible for managing a variety of tasks within a fastpaced environment.
  • Meet productivity standards, complete work in a timely manner, and strive to increase productivity.
  • Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
