We are a team of around 1,400 employees from over 50 nations and with the departments of opera, ballet, and drama, we are the largest three-department theater in Europe.

With approximately 1,000 performances per year, we reach around 500,000 spectators. Join our team and together, let's create amazing stage productions in our opera house, drama house, and other venues.


JOiN is the opera house of the Stuttgart State Opera, located in the outdoor venue North, for children, teenagers, and adults, providing a stage for experimental artists and new formats.

JOiN is both an abbreviation for "Junge Oper im Nord" (Young Opera in the North) and an invitation to join in.

Your responsibilities

  • Setting up lighting for rehearsals and performances
  • Maintenance, care, and testing (VDE) of nonlocally bound lighting equipment
  • Installations for new productions
  • Documentation of new productions
  • Creating special components
  • Programming the lighting console (GrandMA2)
  • Supervising rehearsals and performances as a signal box operator
Your qualifications

  • Completed training as an event technology specialist (m/f/d), alternatively a training with a focus on electrical engineering
  • Experience with lighting consoles (knowledge
