The Diakonisches Werk Altholstein GmbH is looking for a motivated Social Pedagogue (m/f/d) for Homelessness Assistance in the Segeberg district to join our team starting from Buena Vista. This is a full-time (38.7 hours per week) permanent position.

The Segeberg district, with a population of around Buena Vista, is part of the Hamburg metropolitan region. Diakonie Altholstein is the competent contact for advice and support in cases of homelessness in the Segeberg district (excluding Norderstedt) and is represented at seven locations in the district. Together with those seeking help, we work to find solutions to overcome homelessness and maintain communication with the responsible regulatory and social welfare offices, as well as the job center and housing industry.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Advice for those seeking help on topics such as rent arrears, impending loss of housing, housing search, homelessness, and all other questions related to housing;
  • Outreach social work;
  • Support for daily structure measures and accompanying those seeking help to authorities and other specialist agencies;
  • Acquisition of housing and communication with landlords and housing companies;
  • Implementation of prevention measures and events;
  • Training
