- Function as Stage Management Instructor for the school's productions, mentoring students through all production phases.
- Lead the Stage Management Instructor role for 8-10+ productions annually.
- Promote pluralism, curiosity, and well-being in all production processes.
- Teach courses including Introduction to Stage Management and advanced classes.
- Attend technical rehearsals, critical rehearsals, and meetings with the Production Manager.
- Facilitate production meetings and serve on school committees.
- Contribute to Technical Design and Production Program recruitment.
- Requirements: high school diploma or GED, minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred qualifications: MFA in stage management or related field, teaching experience at the high school level.
- Proven success in creating inclusive environments and promoting intellectual discourse.
- Strong organizational, management, and communication skills.
- Minimum three years of professional stage management experience.
- Commitment to education and embracing emerging technologies.

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts is in search of a Stage Management Instructor for a 10-month position in the Stage Management concentration. The selected candidate will become the Stage Management Teacher at the school.
Working closely with the department chair, faculty, Producing Director/Senior Lecturer in Stage Management, and other team members, the incumbent will guide management students through the production and stage management processes in an exciting educational performance season.
Responsibilities include mentoring 8-10+ high school student stage managers, contributing to the stage management curriculum, and overseeing various productions such as theatre productions, dance productions, student showcases, instrumental performances, vocal music productions, and other events over a 10-month calendar.
The ideal Stage Management Instructor will be a mentor who effectively manages production demands, navigates communication channels between different stakeholders, and balances pedagogical responsibilities.
