The Department of Systems Cell Biology (Prof. Dr.

Bastiaens) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Dortmund is seeking to fill a
postdoctoral position in Chemical Biology (m/f/d) in an interdisciplinary team of biochemists and physicists working on the
reconstitution of non-equilibrium life-like systems from catalysts and self-organizing biochemical/chemical building blocks.

Your profile


We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and creative team player with a PhD in Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, or Physical Chemistry to join our team.

The candidate should preferably have experience in one of the following disciplines:
protein (bio)chemistry, enzymology, physical chemistry of lipid assemblies, reconstitution of non-equilibrium complex (bio)chemical systems.

They should have a strong interest in understanding how complex (bio)chemical reaction dynamics at deformable interfaces with the environment can generate morphodynamic patterns.

Ideally, the candidate also has experience in microfluidics and has good knowledge of fluorescence microscopy and advanced image analysis techniques.
