Responsibilities

As a building drafter, you will work in a team and create construction and execution plans using CAD software. Your drawings will then be used to create individual building components and entire structures. This is a profession for those with a talent for drawing and a strong spatial imagination.

  • Creating 3D floor plans, sections, and views for office and production buildings using CAD software
  • Preparing workshop plans for individual building components (e.g. walls, columns, or roof trusses)
  • Geometric representation of individual building components and specification of required reinforcement
  • Creating lists of installation and assembly parts
  • 12-week practical training in carpentry, production, and installation
Training Areas

During the 3-year training, you will work in our technical office and complete a multi-week internship in our production department. In addition, you will attend vocational school at the Technical College in Siegen for 2 days each week.

Qualifications
  • Secondary school diploma
  • Talent for technical drawing and freehand sketching
  • Strong spatial imagination
  • Sense for shapes and contrasts
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
