Chair and Institute for Machine Elements and System Development
Our Profile:
The Institute for Machine Elements and System Development conducts research on the fundamental structural and tribological behavior of machine elements and models it in experimentally validated descriptions.
These model descriptions are used to analyze and design the functional, loss, and noise behavior of complex technical systems, with a focus on drive technology for wind turbines and mobile work machines.
The result is the computational and constructive design of specific technical solutions, including proof of the required system properties on large test rigs.
The MSE's extensive experience with such model-based solutions, including the design of configurable products, enables the research and development of methods for Model Based Systems Engineering as a central element of future industrial product development processes.
The Tribology department at MSE researches the tribological behavior of machine elements. The focus of the research is on application-oriented basic research.Thematic priorities include the interactions between lubricants and the surfaces of lubricated components, the wear behavior of machine elements and medical products, and the changes in lubricants due to use.
These topics are approached through a close collaboration of experiments, simulations, and analysis.**Your Profile
