EHC is currently looking for an Ocean Freight Expeditor for a client in the south Houston, TX area.Overview:
Ensuring timely and accurate movement of inbound freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Purchasing Department.
- Tracking international import transactions (documentation) from origin (supplier dock) to destination (port of destination).
- Ensure that documentation is processed, distributed, and discharged in a timely way to carriers, forwarders, and internal customers.
- Prepare all major data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure date, port of departure, arrival date to port of destination, anticipated date of customs clearance, etc.) and communication to all stakeholders.
- Ensure that international inbound shipments are picked up and transferred with the proper partners.
- Ensure timely container delivery to suppliers.
- Coordination of daily shipments (documentation, monitoring, arranging pickup/dispatching, communicate with carriers/freight forwarder and internal customers).
- Monitor and manage shipments until completion and timely communication to all internal customers regarding the transaction details.
- Indepth communications with supplier, shipper, customer carrier, overseas agents, freight forwarders, local pickup, delivery companies, and internal customers.
- Maintain current data on ocean freight market trends. Regularly compare rates to ensure competitiveness.
- Indepth understanding of the Ocean import process and movement of goods internationally.
- Stay informed of most cost effective/fastest shipping routes including bottlenecks within the system (e.g., port worker stoppages, lack of containers, etc.)
Education and Experience:
- Ocean Import experience +2 years (is must).
- Experience in freight forwarding Ocean operations processes and procedures.
- Indepth understanding of international freight terms, rules, and regulations, e.g., Incoterms, US CBP, etc.
- International experience with import and export process/procedures/requirement from/within various nonUS countries extremely helpful.
Pay:
$58, $65,000.00 per year
