Position Summary:


We are looking for an experienced The
Summer Camp Counselor that can keep children engaged and entertained along with bringing a positive attitude Planning, implementing, and actively participating in daily age-appropriate activities to ensure all children are provided an opportunity to learn are a must.

In this position you will be responsible for planning and leading activities with students ages 5-11. Activities include but aren't limited to art, sports, reading, math, games, and life skills.

We need you to communicate effectively with co-workers, administration, and parents to develop & maintain positive relationships that encourage collaboration.


Core Responsibilities:


  • Create project based learning lesson plans that center around S.T.E.M. arts, movement/ physical education, and social emotional learning (SEL)
  • Prepare and facilitate 45minute long activities with OST groups
  • Actively supervise students during play and projects
  • Monitor student attendance and conduct head counts as students dismiss
  • Maintain rooms and materials
  • Assisting director and site coordinator with student arrival and dismissal and late pickup, when required
  • Accompanying and guiding students hosted OST field trips and featured presentations
  • Complete required child care professional development certifications

  • Ability to work evenings until 6PM

Dates/ Hours/ Location:


  • Inquiry Charter School, 1301 Belmont Ave
  • Must be available to work June 20thAugust 5th (some flexibility if needed)
  • Camp is open from 12:005:00 PM daily and program leaders are expected to work a minimum of three 5 hour afternoon shifts Monday through Friday.

Compensation:
$22-$32/ hour based on responsibilities bi-weekly pay


Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34)
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Record Check Clearance (Act 114)
  • 5+ years of child care experience within a childcare facility or schoolbased program
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Additional Qualifications (not necessary but a plus):

  • Certification or degree in early childhood education
  • Special enrichment certifications (teaching artist, educational, or vocational)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Mandated Reporter Certification
  • Basic computer, Internet, and social media skills
  • Exceptional written communication and lesson planning skills
  • Excellent communications skills, particularly with young children
