Location: Summerfield, NC


At Munich Re's International Facultative Underwriting unit in Summerfield, NC, we specialize in writing worldwide casualty facultative reinsurance for our clients.

We also work with our Treaty department to evaluate and assess single risks. We are currently seeking an experienced Underwriter for facultative casualty reinsurance and direct insurance topics. This position is based in Summerfield, NC and we are looking to fill two positions.


Job Description:

  • Ensuring the technical quality of facultative casualty underwriting
  • Supporting the development of customer, class of business, and product strategies, taking into account claim trends and customer needs
  • Acquiring profitable new business and identifying new business potential
  • Assessing, accepting, and managing complex facultative proportional and nonproportional reinsurance offers according to underwriting guidelines and authority
  • Conducting market, customer, and portfolio analyses and providing ideas for generating new business and innovative product solutions
  • Participating in external and internal audits
  • Contributing to intra and interdepartmental working groups and expert groups
  • Proactively communicating lineofbusiness topics through social media and other channels
  • Participating in internal and external professional training and seminars, including lecturing
  • Collaborating with relevant interfaces such as Client Management, Treaty Underwriting, and Claims
