Education and/or Equivalent Experience:


  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to Business Administration, Public Administration, plus four years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
  • A Master's Degree may substitute for required experience up to two (2) years.

    Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Monitor contracts for compliance, coordinate renewals and amendments, and process purchase orders.
  • Solicit and award informal bids and conduct monthly audits on current contracts.
  • Monitor the revenue payments of concessionaire contracts and preparing the annual concession report for presentation to the Parks and Recreation Board.
  • Provide notice of Corporate Purchasing solicitation opportunities to all departmental divisions and maintaining a database of solicitation opportunities and division responses.
  • Supports the department's grant processes.
  • Coordinate the submission of materials to the Director's Office for both Concessions and Contracts Committee and the Parks and Recreation Board.
  • Monitor and update the department's master contract records.
  • Conduct desk reviews on every active PARD contract on an annual basis and develop and update a database of the compliance reviews.

Physical Requirements:Tasks may involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, or using a force equal to lifting up to ten (10) pounds. Work environment includes inside, and outside environmental conditions, extreme temperatures, and hazards associated with equipment operation including fumes, oils, gases, and mists. Must be physically and mentally able to communicate, respond and work with participant's needs and safety issues.

Travel: If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin
Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

90 Day Provision for Additional Vacancy: This posting may be used to fill other vacancies in other divisions/work locations within the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department. Decisions on assigned selection will be made at the time of hire based on the business needs of the department.

Work/Location Schedule Notes:


  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • Ability to work remotely 50% within a two (2) week period as per the City's telework policy.
  • May be required to work during special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.
  • May be required to work during city emergencies such as extreme weather events.
