- Development of mathematical algorithms for mode/sensor implementation
- Develops software to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of sensors and other platforms
- Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization
- Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, flight test requirements verification, and sustainment.
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, OR Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
- Must have experience with Signals processing / Radar systems / Electronics systems performance analysis, test or integration / OR MATLAB, C/C++, Python or related languages
- Must have the ability to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
- Must have the ability to work with a team in a rapid prototyping environment

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems / Sr. Principal Engineer Systems to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role you will work in a collaborative, small team environment, to build, maintain, and enhance data and software products focused on mission success. You may develop data models, define clean-sheet software requirements, develop software products, and refine existing technology to provide robust capabilities and influence technological growth within the sector. You will work across multiple teams and projects, as well as with multiple end-users to build, test, integrate and field system software capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
At Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, our work influences the investment decisions and development paths of our senior program leadership and customer program offices. The Ops Analysis team draws from many other disciplines (e.g. Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.) and collaborates across diverse and functional disciplines offering a unique opportunity to obtain a broad understanding of many areas as well as the opportunities to implement cutting-edge software, data, and analysis solutions.
The selected candidate will be responsible for development and implementation of new and existing high fidelity, system performance models, threat models, and command & control models.

Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
