They work at district courts or in public prosecutor's offices and perform important tasks there, as they are the central point where all decisions and other documents involved in a judicial procedure are received.

They work closely with judges.


When is the next court date? Are all witnesses summoned? As organizational talents, legal assistants ensure a smooth process in their teams, the so-called service units of the courts.

They pass on information, monitor deadlines, or arrange for the delivery of judgments. In court hearings, legal assistants independently create the protocol. They also manage all correspondence in the secretariats of public prosecutor's offices.


With a lot of empathy and tact, legal assistants are always the direct contact person for citizens seeking advice and competently answer their various inquiries about the proceedings.

The training lasts 3 years and takes place in the dual system at the training court and in vocational school.
