The district of Gießen is looking to fill a full-time position as a team leader (m/f/d) in the Department 5- Child and Youth Services, Regional Team East, Branch Office Grünberg, as soon as possible.

Our youth office supports children, adolescents, and parents as early as possible. We offer counseling, assistance, services, and support in difficult life situations and in various areas.

The Department 51, Child and Youth Services, handles the following tasks, among others:


  • General Social Services
  • Integration Assistance
  • Juvenile Court Assistance
  • Foster Care Services
  • Unaccompanied Minor Foreigners/Participation in Family Court Proceedings in Cases of Separation and Divorce
  • Economic Youth Services


The tasks are diverse and range from prevention and child protection to support in juvenile criminal proceedings and much more.

You can expect a varied range of tasks with a motivated interdisciplinary team.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Leading a multi-professional and interdisciplinary team
  • Responsibility for the proper performance of tasks within the team and as a representative on the team management level, including necessary focus areas
  • Implementation of the organizational structure and processes in the Department 51 Child and Youth Services; ensuring the operation of services within the team
  • Exercising service and professional supervision of team employees; responsibility for implementing internal guidelines within the team
  • Preparing appeal decisions, responsibility for complaint management
  • Making decisions in difficult individual cases
  • Participation in budget
