Creole Interpreter - Bronx, United States - Safe Vision Family Programs

Save Vision Family Program is seeking a Creole-speaking interpreter to join our team in the Bronx and Manhattan locations. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between Creole-speaking clients and English-speaking staff members.


Duties:

• Provide interpretation services in medical, social work, or other settings as needed
• Translate verbal communications accurately and efficiently
• Review and interpret documentation to ensure accuracy in translation
• Communicate effectively in multiple languages to bridge language gaps
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate understanding
• Assist with the translation of medical records and other relevant documents
• Conduct interpretation services for patients, families, and healthcare providers
• Possess proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in multiple languages to effectively communicate with diverse populations
• Strong communication skills to convey information accurately and clearly
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements
• Ability to review and understand complex documentation for accurate translation
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous
• Fluency in Creole and English
• Previous experience as an interpreter preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
