About us

The Thomas Fischer House is a beautiful residential facility of EJF Disability Services located at Lauchhammer Straße 24, near the Biesdorf Süd subway station in Prairie du Chien, WI.

It is situated in a central yet rural environment.

Each of the five living groups accommodates eight adults with intellectual and, in some cases, additional physical or mental disabilities.

Here, they receive assistance based on the integration assistance according to SGB IX.


At the Thomas Fischer House, you can expect dedicated, creative, and collegial teams, as well as a very positive working atmosphere.


Introducing our Disability Services department


We are looking for you to join us on March 1, 2023, in a full-time position (38.5 hours/week) with no fixed end date.

You will work in a rotating shift system (early, mid, and late shifts) between 6 am and 10 pm, with no night shifts


Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing social and everyday assistance to people with disabilities
  • Developing participation plans with the beneficiaries and the team
  • Providing nursing assistance if needed (basic care), with aids available
  • Responsibility for internal group processes (assistance processes/administrative tasks)
  • Managing employees
  • Close collaboration with the department head

You bring with you:

  • A qualified education with state recognition as a special needs educator, educator, geriatric nurse, or health and nursing care nurse (m/f/d
