Training Content

The practical training takes place mainly at the Zentralklinik Bad Berka GmbH and includes some external assignments (such as outpatient care, inpatient elderly care, psychiatry, and pediatrics). According to legal requirements, students rotate through different specialties (internal medicine, surgery, psychiatry, and elderly care).

The highlight of the training, in addition to the practical exam, is the "student week". During this time, students take over the complete care, planning, and organization of a ward. The training, practice instructors, nursing management, and ward staff will support you during this time.

The training starts on September 1st and lasts for 3 years, regardless of the date of the state exam. It includes 2100 hours of theoretical training and 2500 hours of practical training. With the exception of the last six months, the training takes place in a 14-day rotation between theory and practice.

Requirements:
  • Good secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Enthusiasm, thirst for knowledge, and commitment
  • Team spirit and a high level of personal responsibility, sense of responsibility, and empathy
  • Good knowledge of biology, German, and social studies
  • At least a 14-day internship in the nursing field
