PURPOSE OF POSITION:


Under direction of the CQO and hospital executive leadership, the AED serves as the administrative leader of the Department of Quality Management, which includes under its purview the divisions of Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Infection Control and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement.

Critical to the success of this position is an ability to effectively collaborate with clinical leadership to implement quality improvement efforts; an appreciation for Just Culture and the importance of psychological safety; experience identifying barriers and improving process efficiency; experience with data analysis and visualization, and the ability to support the integration of team members around shared priorities and values.


SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaboratively set the vision and strategy for Quality Management with facility leadership and frontline staff.
  • Provide administrative supervision and support for directors of Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Infection Control and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to principles of Just Culture, psychological safety, and partnership with clinical leaders.
  • Facilitate collaboration across QM divisions to optimize efficiencies and ensure consistency.
  • Partner with CMO, CMIO and other hospital leaders to optimize data analysis and reporting
  • Support the Patient Safety Officer with the facility Patient Safety Committee, to develop system and facility annual Patient Safety goals, and ensure high performance in the National Patient Safety Goals, including the Leapfrog Survey.
  • Support the Chief Quality Officer's role as Executive Sponsor for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and execution of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and monitoring for compliance.
  • Incorporate information learned from nearmiss and adverse event reporting and RCA's into Performance Improvement activities.
  • Support executive sponsorship of public survey submissions shared responsibility with Chief Quality Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer to assist with final review of data and responses prior to submission.
  • Responsible for quality assurance activities for facility, system and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee quality assurance data collection, chart abstraction and reporting activities.
  • Support Performance Improvement capacity building and project implementation
  • Support executive sponsorship of public survey submissions shared responsibility with Chief Quality Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer to assist with final review of data and responses prior to submission.
  • Serve as an Executive Sponsor for continuous readiness efforts for accreditation surveys including tracers, mock surveys, and creation and implementation of Plans of Correction.
  • Incorporate information learned from tracer and survey activities into Performance Improvement programs.
  • Oversee quality data analytics and reporting activities to support Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, Risk Management, and Accreditation programs and activities.
Minimum Qualifications


  • A Masters Degree with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine or in Public Health when conferred for a program in Hospital Administration from an accredited college or university; and,
  • Six years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or an equivalent field, or as an Assistant to a Hospital Administrator in a position of direct responsibility for operations of a major part or all of a hospital, including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs; or,
  • An equivalent combination of training, education and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations, knowledge of business and human resources administration principles, management functions, management processes and functions of hospital departments, and ability to direct and supervise personnel.

Pay:
From $175,000.00 per year
