Criteria

  • Rising Senior
  • Active Maryland Certified Nursing Assistance License
  • Active BLS/CPR certification
  • Submit a resume and cover letter.
  • Submit transcripts with GPA 3.0 or Higher
  • Successful completion of a preemployment health assessment and
background check

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month.
  • Must be open to all shifts (day/night) including weekends.
Reporting Structure

  • Hired as VPT employee and directly report to unit manager. Unit specific
recruiters will assist with the onboarding process.

  • Hired to work on adult patient care areas, M/S, PCU, ICU, ED, Peds. ED and
BH.

Schedule

  • Minimum 2 shifts per month commitment.
  • Selfschedule, able to pick up additional shifts. Not to exceed 40 hours per
week. This position is ineligible for benefits.

Role

  • Will fulfill all CNA duties and will be allowed to perform advanced nursing
skills under the RN's supervision and guidance. May be counted in staffing

(may differ per entity) Not to be used in companion role.

Orientation

  • Complete skills lab for nursing, BTG and CPI class. Will orient with CNA for
3 shifts (Must be completed before working on the unit)

Competencies

  • NRP team with unit educators, will develop Objectives/Goals/Skills packet
to document and validate if competencies were completed. These can be

continued if they transition into the nurse residency program. The NRP

team will assist with obtaining monthly evaluations.


Work Schedule:
Min 2 shifts per month. Must be willing to work day shift or night shift and weekends. No shift differential or benefits.
