The city of Greenville, RI, with a population of approximately 57,000, is the second largest city in the Rhein-Sieg district.

It is known for its green surroundings between the rivers Rhein, Sieg, and Siebengebirge, as well as its excellent infrastructure and proximity to the cities of Bonn, Cologne, and Düsseldorf.


Starting on April 1, 2023, we are seeking a Debt and Consumer Insolvency Advisor (m/f/d) for the Department of Social Services and Housing.


The position is classified as S 12 TVöD / 9b TVöD / A 9 (LG2 1.EA) LBesG NRW, and previous professional experience will be taken into account when determining the salary level, if it is deemed relevant for the position.

The employment is permanent, with a weekly working time of 39 or 41 hours. The position can be shared by two suitable candidates through job sharing.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Preventative and followup debt counseling
  • Counseling according to the Consumer Insolvency Act
  • Legal advice and representation in insolvency proceedings through appropriate authorization from the debtor
  • Debt relief measures through negotiations with banks, lenders, and employers
  • Creating private household and financial plans
  • Negotiating debt settlement agreements
  • Referring significant legal disputes outside of insolvency proceedings to a lawyer
  • Making decisions on cases according to § 36 SGB XII
