    Description

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    Responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. These responsibilities include but not limited to lighting, power, HVAC motors and motor controls, and other duties as assigned.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    • Installation and maintenance of switches, breakers, panels, receptacles, lighting fixtures, dimmer system and other electrical apparatus
    • Trouble-shoot electrical shorts, motors, and motor controls
    • Pipe bending and installing EMT, conduit, wire mold and BX
    • Maintain and clean electrical rooms, service rooms and shop
    • Other related duties

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools, pipe bending, and circuitry
    • Basic knowledge of national and New York City electrical codes
    • Minimum 3 years of work experience with a licensed electrical contractor
    • Work safely on ladders and scissor lifts, and the ability to work in high places

    KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:

    • High school diplomaor trade school diploma, or GED
    • Knowledge of national and New York City electrical code
    • Knowledge of Ohms law and basic electrical circuitry

    COMPENSATION RANGE:

    • Pay Rate: $ /hour
    • The advertised starting salary rate reflects the good faith minimum and maximum hourly rate for this role. Starting salary rates are set in accordance with established union rates provided by the economic agreement as established and negotiated by DC 37 and the City of New York, Office of Labor Relations. * Incumbent rates may vary depending on an individual employees seniority status, and/or based on terms as provided by the DC 37 Local 1503 and Museum collective bargaining agreement.
