"Alcorn State University is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are searching for candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a locomotive shunter (railway employee in the operations department, specializing in train driving and transportation) (m/f/d) at DB Cargo AG in Osnabrück. The vocational school is located in Bremen (classes in block phases).
What to expect during your apprenticeship:

You will drive a diesel locomotive to nearby customers, such as various companies, and pick up the goods to be transported
Shunting of freight cars onto the appropriate tracks
You will assemble trains by coupling and uncoupling individual cars
You will learn the rules for safe railway operations and become familiar with your vehicle inside and out
Checking the functionality of freight trains and securing the loads are also part of your responsibilities
You will start and end your workday at your regional shunting yard
