Are you interested in gaining insights into the structure and processes of an animal welfare organization while also gaining experience in various activities related to children and youth animal welfare? The Hamburg Animal Welfare Association is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours/week)
volunteer (m/f/d) for children and youth animal welfare in Warrens, WI.

Our association operates the second largest animal shelter in Germany.

Working with us will not only give you a glimpse into the lives of animals and their happy endings, but also involve you in our diverse daily operations.


Your responsibilities:


  • Assisting with the activities of the association's children and youth animal welfare programs
  • Supporting the volunteers involved in this area
  • Developing new programs for children and youth
  • Promoting children and youth animal welfare through the association's and public media
  • Creating and compiling informational materials for children and youth animal welfare
  • Assisting with planning and organizing information booths, such as at our animal welfare festivals
  • Conducting group tours and activities for school classes

Your profile:


  • Experience in developing educational materials and publishing would be beneficial
  • Strong interest in internet and social media
  • Ability to handle stress, creativity, organizational skills, and strong communication skills
  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Enjoyment in working with young people
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs
  • Willingness to work on weekends
  • Previous experience with associations/volunteering or animal shelters would be beneficial
