The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany.

Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 professions across the country who want to become even better with us.


Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you for a 3-year apprenticeship as a train controller (m/f/d) for DB InfraGO AG at our location in Darmstadt.

The vocational school lessons will most likely take place at BBS in Lahnstein. For your commute, you will receive free company travel tickets and, if needed, a student ticket for Hesse. In addition, some trainings and seminars will also be conducted digitally or online. During your practical training, you will be working in the early and late shifts.
With this apprenticeship, you will become a coordinator for our trains. Instead of being on the train, you will be in a control center (called "signal box"). We have countless signal boxes all over Germany.

Through screens or boards, you can observe the trains in your area and use buttons, keys, and levers to influence their journey.

With the push of a button, you can set signals (traffic lights for the trains) to green or red and also switch tracks so that the trains can change tracks.

You will also have many other tasks that make you the most important team member for the train drivers. You will be in constant contact and exchange information
