Essential Duties:


  • Manage the Company's ELD (Motive)/Hours of Service program.
  • Further implement in cab technology for use in all HCC operated vehicles.
  • Develop appropriate Key Performance Indicators based upon data generated by various internal and external resources.
  • Oversee the process and ensure accuracy of the Driver Qualification program, DOT onboarding, and the Driver tracking system.
  • Develop, manage and implement an effective and measurable Driver Safety Program.
  • Track and monitor CSA scores/trends. Proactively develop the programs necessary to drive improved CSA scores and DOT compliance.
  • Ensure compliance and routinely audit HCC's DOT driver programs.
  • Support the Safety team with investigations on accidents and vehicle incidents.
  • Review and support internal and external DOT audits and followup on corrective actions if necessary.

Other Duties

  • Interface with and manage third party vendors that assist HCC in DOT compliance as it relates to DOT requirements and HCC drivers.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas within the company including the Human Resources, Fleet, Law and Sales Departments.
  • Other duties as assigned by Senior Manager Risk, DOT, and Sustainability.

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of FMCSA/DOT regulations
  • Familiar with ELD implementation, coaching and reporting
  • Ability to interpret and streamline data into useful reporting tools
  • Solid understanding of the use of Commercial Motor Vehicles
  • Ability to lead others while driving continuous improvement
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a teambased environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment
  • A track record of a strong work ethic and reliability

Work Experience

  • 25 years DOT/transportationrelated work experience minimum
  • Previous telematic/electronic log compliance experience required
  • CDL, or former CDL, a plus
  • Hazardous Materials experience, a plus

Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Specific Skills

Work Environment:

While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works indoors and may be required to sit for long periods.

Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
