The use of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators has been an integral part of developing highly advanced control units for many years.

This includes covering future topics such as electromobility and autonomous driving, as well as conventional powertrains, vehicle dynamics control units, and driver assistance systems.

As an application engineer, you will work in project teams to design HIL simulators, adapt control unit I/O including bus systems, and develop real-time capable Simulink model components. You will also have direct communication with our global customers.

Your responsibilities

  • Creation and customization of customer-specific HIL simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Implementation of network simulation for all bus systems in the vehicle, such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, etc.
  • Validation of created models in conjunction with real control units
  • Commissioning and on-site support of simulators at our Paderborn location and at customer sites
  • Collaboration on national and international customer projects

Your profile

  • Successfully completed technical or scientific studies (Master's/Bachelor's) in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience with model
