- Oversee Military and Government projects, from prototype to high-volume production, involving product or process development.
- Manage the transition of products or processes from R&D to manufacturing (NPI).
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to fulfill schedule, cost, and performance commitments.
- Engage with external customers in Mil/Aero and government markets.
- Lead projects covering various aspects such as coating design, PVD processes, optical assembly, and more.
- Utilize effective project management tools to enhance project performance and reporting.
- Assist in engineering project proposal preparation, technical definition, and resource planning.
- Take a lead role in customer communications and resolving engineering and project management issues.
- Proactively manage program risks through identification and mitigation processes.
- Establish and monitor goals for the project team.
- Support the commercial team in business development activities, including customer interactions and quote development.
- Assist in selecting and overseeing external manufacturing partners.
- Travel occasionally required.
- B.S, M.S., or Ph.D. in Physical Science or Engineering.
- Expertise in optical systems and components.
- PMP certification highly desired.
- Experience in optical thin film coating design, manufacturing, and characterization preferred.
- Proven experience in program/project management for new products and processes, with a minimum of 5 years.
- Demonstrated ability in managing technical teams; analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset.
- Experience in technical program/project management within manufacturing environments, minimum 5 years.
- Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Office, and Microsoft Project.
- Eligibility for U.S. DoD Security Clearance [current, active U.S. DoD Security Clearance preferred].
