Your Responsibilities:


Your duties will consist exclusively of scientific services in teaching, which are to be carried out independently or under the responsibility of a university lecturer.

The teaching obligation is based on the Teaching Obligation Ordinance for Hamburg universities (LVVO) in its current version. The Dean's Office may adjust the teaching obligation on this basis. The current teaching obligation is 16 teaching hours per semester.

Teaching in the subject of Modern History within the framework of the Social Studies teaching subject, for example:

  • Conducting courses
  • Preparation and compilation of teaching materials
  • Selection and evaluation of literature for course preparation
  • Advising and supervising students on presentations and term papers in your own course
  • Designing exams for your own courses
  • Grading exams and term papers for your own courses

Your Profile:

  • Completed university degree relevant to the tasks
  • Degree in history with a focus on the period between 1500 and contemporary history. The position is suitable for all regional focuses within this time period.
