At the Folkwang University of the Arts, in the Department 1, a W2 professorship for piano with a focus on contemporary music is to be filled as soon as possible.

The position requires a teaching load of 21 semester hours per week.

We are looking for an artistic personality with international concert experience and a broad solo and chamber music repertoire that includes as many styles as possible, but at least contemporary music since 1950 with its extended playing techniques.


Requirements:


The responsibilities of the position include piano instruction in all degree programs of instrumental education, which includes solo performance in traditional and contemporary repertoire, as well as chamber music projects of contemporary music.

In addition, the following qualifications are expected from applicants:

  • A completed music degree with a major in piano from a university or a comparable qualification according to § 29 of the Law on Art Universities of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (Kunsthochschulgesetz
  • KunstHG NRW)
  • A special and high interest in pedagogy and extensive pedagogical experience in higher education or comparable institutions
  • Team and communication skills


The position holder will teach the main subject of piano with a focus on contemporary music in all degree programs of instrumental education.

The language of instruction is German. The requirements for employment are regulated in § 29 KunstHG NRW.
