About the Department
Global Drug Discovery (GDD) focuses on accelerating the development of new cardiometabolic therapies for Novo Nordisk.
The main goal is to discover and assess new targets that can impact cardiometabolic disease and move projects forward in the NN pipeline.
The therapeutic area (TA) teams work closely with GDD teams and Novo Nordisk sites worldwide.The TA aims to drive significant scientific innovation in the diabetes and obesity area to ensure that key scientific topics are being pursued to support Novo Nordisk's Global Drug Discovery (GDD) goals.
The Position
The Principal Scientist will lead the identification and validation of new drug targets through external innovation, advancing therapies, and developing technologies to speed up drug research.
This role involves providing strategic guidance to both internal and external project teams as a subject matter expert.
Relationships
Reporting to the VP of Metabolic Research, this position involves working with internal research employees, project managers, and colleagues in therapeutic areas. External relationships include collaborations, partnerships, and academic collaborators.
