Duties

:


  • Provides expert cybersecurity architecture and support to cybersecurity certification test and evaluation activities.
  • Conducts regular risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security threats; recommend cybersecurity controls to mitigate risk.
  • Provides technical expertise to red team and penetration testing activities and initiatives. Plans and create testing plans. Performs threat modeling and reporting.
  • Oversees the monitoring and analysis of cyber threats, including malware, phishing attacks, and other types of cyberattacks.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • This is a drug test position requiring preemployment and random drug testing.
  • This position requires the incumbent to travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS) up to 25 percent of the time.
  • This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Qualifying Experience

:


To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as providing oversight and guidance of cyber risk management for the execution of cybersecurity functions and conducting risk and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate network security incidents.**

qualifying experienceat the GG-14 grade level.

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.

Salary range includes a Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) in accordance with Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI , Volume 3006. Eligibility to receive the Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) is dependent upon the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work role assigned to the position occupied.**:

  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
