The Total Joint Program Specialist will provide support to the surgeon and the team to manage process and procedures of the program to ensure that timelines are met, and patient care is provided timely.

Additionally, this position will work closely with the operations leadership team and provide administration and coordination of variety of research, program, and projects, including but not limited to planning, organizing, research and delivery of services.

This position will also be responsible to transcribe for the provider as needed.


Essential Duties:


  • Provide administration and coordination of a variety of research, program, and projects to ensure timeline are met and delivered at the highest quality.
  • Maintains knowledge of Health System's crime prevention and suppression programs and services. Ensures dissemination of security related information to staff as indicated.
  • Provide leadership with project coordination functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, scheduling and implementing project activities to meet objectives. Participates in writing of reports or other documentation of project status and/or administrative activities or project results
  • Creates status reports on project plans, progress and results of activities. Coordinates publication production and/or dissemination in order to meet deadlines.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews of assigned projects. Instructs project personnel on quality assurance procedures and answers questions regarding data collection, management and analysis methods. Monitors problem areas and submits regular reports with recommendations.
  • Provides pertinent data and projections for use in developing project or department budgets in conjunction with clinic leadership.
  • Actively participate in the planning and delivery of project activities as directed by clinic leadership
  • Assists in the planning of data collection. Recommends methods and procedures for data acquisition, management and quality control.
  • Develops and maintains electronic databases and/or other records for reporting purposes.
  • Enters and/or verifies database transactions as necessary. Provides technical support and design enhancements.
  • Provide resolution, response, and feedback when referred by staff. Takes necessary steps to address issues and resolve problems.
  • Arranges and attends meetings, seminars, symposia and other events related to project efforts.
  • Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts.
  • Responsible to transcribe for the provider(s) when needed in clinic and operating room during the course of service. Scribe word for word and input accurately and accordingly in EMR chart using unique scribing password. Ensure all required fields, including signature and date fields, are completed. Forward documentation electronically via EMR to physician to review and signoff for finalization. Review and follow all requirements and procedures as noted in the Scribe Policy, DC32
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


  • Req High School or equivalent
  • Req 3 years Directly related program, project or administrative experience.
  • Req Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Req Detail oriented individual with a high level of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Pref Bachelor's Degree

Required Licenses/Certifications:


  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
