Summary of Position
Summary:
This part-time, 15-20 hours per week, $15/hour, year-round position assists with the ILL/Delivery, Facilities and Physical Collections programs by gathering requested materials (daily) delivering (both physical and digital) materials and scanning and transporting materials between campus locations including Dimond Library, the branch libraries, and the Library Storage Building, as well as other projects as assigned.
This role also serves as a contact for the library vehicle(s).- Ideally, we are looking for applicants with a consistent year-round schedule that can commit to working a 3-4 hour shift Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30-4:30.
Flexibility as to when the shift is performed during that time frame is available.-
Job Specific Duties:
75% With general direction from the Interlibrary Loan/Materials Delivery Program Lead and working closely with program colleagues, process internal and external patron requests for materials from remote locations including the Library Storage building and branch libraries, with primary emphasis on supporting Interlibrary Loan operations; includes retrieving, scanning and/or delivering materials/items daily.
Transport materials to/from storage as needed and ensures materials are returned to proper locations. Deliver/pick up outgoing/incoming library mail to UNH Mail Services on the days they do not provide this service.Serve as courier among the main and branch libraries.- 10% Other stacks maintenances projects may be assigned i.e., assisting with the organization movement/relocation of library general collections, re-labeling materials, etc.- 10% With colleagues, track/resolve facility-related issues (e.g., report HVAC or other system problems, provide access for vendors and contractors, and coordinate access for building and equipment upgrades) for the Library's offsite (but on campus) storage building (LSB).- 5% Coordinate maintenance and refueling of the library vehicle with the Library Services Specialist - including ensuring parking is safe and available (removing snow, shoveling out).

Required Qualifications - Current valid driver's license and the ability to complete defensive driving training.
- Ability to lift/push heavy loads (up to 65lbs) regularly or accommodate lifting/pushing multiple lighter loads to allow distribution of weight.
- Ability to operate vehicle liftgate controls and heavy garage door.
- Experience with (or aptitude for) scanning and/or other digitization technology.
- Basic computer skills and an ability to learn new computer software programs and platforms;
- Comfortable working in a teambased environment and a proven ability and willingness to work independently and collaboratively;
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative to improve workflow, processes and organizational efficiencies;
- Demonstrated attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records, managing tasks (sometimes multiple), and planning and organizing work to meet evolving priorities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience with (or aptitude for) monitoring building security and/or alarm systems.
