The wbg is more than just a publishing house: As a community of members and readers, it is the largest knowledge community in Germany.

Founded in 1949 to provide the German scientific community with specialized literature, the wbg has successfully adapted to the changes in society and the book market and continues to exist as a non-profit organization.

Under the publishing brands wbg Theiss, wbg Paperback, wbg Philipp von Zabern, wbg Edition, and wbg Academic, around 120 new titles are published annually in the fields of politics and society, old and new history, art and literature, archaeology, philosophy, theology, and more.

We are currently looking for a


Trainee for Press and Public Relations (m/f/d)


Your tasks will include compiling press reviews, sending out review copies, contacting journalists in all types of media, as well as taking on your own book projects and communicating with authors.

But the creative side of PR is also part of the training:
You will learn how to independently write press texts and contribute to PR and communication concepts. We are looking for someone who works reliably and precisely and is also enthusiastic about administrative tasks.


Requirements:


  • Completed studies, preferably in the humanities or media sciences
  • Interest in humanities, especially historical topics
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Possible internships in publishing and/or PR, editing, event management
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of social media
