We are in search of a Financial Aid Advisor (FAA) to join our team. The FAA's main responsibility is to assist the Financial Aid Director and Pillar College students by evaluating financial information, administering different types of financial aid (state, federal, institutional, veterans, etc.), and guiding students in financial matters.

The FAA will aid the Student Service Center (SSC) in addressing student inquiries. Additionally, they will offer guidance to students in resolving verification issues and other concerns.

Responsibilities of the FAA include, but are not restricted to:

Responding to inquiries and providing information on tuition fees and other charges at Pillar College
Informing about Pillar College grants, scholarships, and other financial support opportunities
Meeting with applicants, collecting relevant financial aid data (e.g. ISIR information), and reviewing financial estimates or Award Letters when necessary
Assisting in proofreading or translating documents to ensure clear communication with students
Collaborating with Admissions, Student Accounts, SSC, and other departments at the college
Staying updated on various government websites and online tools related to student loans and aid
Performing other duties as assigned by Pillar College officials and the Director of Financial Aid

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in financial aid services
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
Knowledge of CampusVue is a plus
Prior exposure to college programs is beneficial
Familiarity with government online resources
Must be fluent in Spanish and English

EDUCATION:

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree

Friendly demeanor with effective telephone etiquette
Ability to connect well with others
Skilled in project management and multitasking within a team setting
Proficient in decision-making, prioritization, and task execution
Capable of upholding strict confidentiality in office matters

HOURS:

Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling
