Diabetes Consultant:
DDG (m/w/d)
The Elisabeth Hospital Essen provides care for diabetes patients from gestational diabetes, through childhood and adolescence, to old age.

The pediatric diabetology department is a year-round contact point and training center for children with newly diagnosed diabetes for manifestation training.

In addition, the latest diabetological techniques are planned to be taught. Treatment includes inpatient training and a pediatric diabetes outpatient clinic.
The diabetes team currently consists of nine people.

In order to ensure a structured handover, we are looking for a

Diabetes Consultant:

DDG (m/w/d) to fill a position that will soon become available due to one of our valued colleagues retiring.

Your responsibilities
Collaboration in the further development of our inpatient and outpatient diabetes center for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents
Training and support for diabetes patients and their families in the pediatric and adolescent medicine department during manifestation and metabolic decompensation
Conducting structured group training for children of all ages, including CGM and pump training (especially AID)
Preferably with experience in this area for independent planning and implementation of pump and CGM training
Consultation and collaboration in the pediatric outpatient clinic
Your profile
Successfully completed training as a

Diabetes Consultant:
DDG and solid professional experience
Solid (professional) experience in working with children and adolescents
