- Designing overall electro-mechanical system architecture, system specifications, and upper-level design descriptions
- Defining critical interfaces between subsystems and guiding the integration of sophisticated software-driven electro-mechanical devices
- Creating system level test strategy, test specifications, and protocols
- Conducting hazards and failure modes analysis as well as mitigation design
- Collaborating with program management to achieve design goals such as product cost, size, weight, and manufacturability
- Assisting in project planning by estimating required design effort
- Offering guidance on manufacturing process development and test criteria
- MS/BS in Engineering with 5-10 years' experience in electro-mechanical machine and/or product design
- Demonstrated expertise in new product development with embedded software, complex mechanical systems, and electronics
- Proven technical leadership and problem-solving skills
- Experience in requirements definition, standards compliance, and testing
- Familiarity with first-generation product development, particularly in the medical device industry
- Knowledge of product testing, experimental methods, statistical techniques, and manufacturing processes
- Prior exposure to disposable products
