Essential Job Functions
The Financial Reporting & Budgeting Manager assists in leading the Firm's annual expense and capital budget, and reforecast process.

The Financial Reporting & Budgeting Manager will also provide collaborative, strategic, and value-added financial leadership while working closely with senior leadership and department budget owners to provide guidance, support, and expertise for all financial activities.

The Financial Reporting & Budgeting Manager will be responsible for managing the analysis and reporting on the Firm's financial performance and key measures against the budget for leadership throughout the year.


The Financial Reporting & Budgeting Manager will play a critical role in developing next generation reporting, modeling, and business insights for firm leadership, with focus on operational and business support expenses.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Lead annual budget and reforecast process partnering with departments across the Firm.
  • Work sidebyside with business areas across the firm to develop the best approach for budgeting and delivering financial information in the most effective way.
  • Review and analyze various financial reports including variance analyses, and comparisons to budget and other benchmarking information.
  • Evaluate and analyze key business drivers and financial results and advise management of variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Produce and present business information in compelling and easy to understand manner to create insights.
  • Respond to special requests for financial data and analyses on current and proposed projects and programs. Interprets results and formats to facilitate decision making.
  • Support the development of Financial Reporting and Budgeting staff ensuring they are utilized effectively and coached in areas needing development.
  • Streamline and enhance processes within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • The Financial Reporting and Budgeting manager will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, as well as six to ten years of experience, CPA designation preferred. Prior tenure in public accounting or at a law firm or other professional services company is highly valued.
  • At least three years of experience in leading and managing people; demonstrated ability to work in crossfunctional teams is critical.
  • Excellent analytical skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to broad audiences.
  • This individual should be collaborative and have the ability to communicate with openness and transparency with personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to develop creative solutions/alternatives to issues/questions are critical. This individual must have the ability and willingness to assess procedures and proactively recommend improvements to existing processes.
  • Having at least two years of experience directly working on headcount and compensation planning is preferred.
  • Experience working with a financial performance/budget system is preferred. OneStream and/or 3E would be an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
