As a shunting assistant, you are responsible for shunting operations at the train station.

We are looking for you as a career changer for a retraining as a shunting assistant (m/f/d) for DB Cargo AG at the deployment location Oberhausen. In the 6-month in-house retraining at the training location Oberhausen, we will prepare you for your job entry.

What to expect during the retraining:

The retraining takes place full-time (39 hours/week) and consists of theoretical and practical teaching sections
The training classes consist of approximately 6 participants
As part of the retraining as a shunting assistant, you will also acquire the qualifications as a shunting worker and brake test authorized person

After your retraining, you will take on the following tasks:

You are responsible for shunting operations during train dissolution and formation
You also take on train preparations and dispatches, as well as technical initial checks and brake tests
Inspecting wagons, customs processing, and processing trains in the IT systems are also part of your duties
