In the first half of 2023, DESY will launch a new platform in collaboration with Helmholtz partners HZDR, HZB, and Hereon.

The platform will be led by DESY and will include Technology Labs teams at the Hamburg and Dresden sites, working closely with platform management and scientific groups.

The Technology Labs will focus on selected topics and high-risk development work, with the goal of achieving key milestones and attracting private investments in the future.


About the role:

  • Design and set up a compact, robust laser plasma accelerator
  • Develop a novel laserdriven high energy inverse Compton scattering Xray source
  • Demonstrate industrially relevant Xray imaging performance
