Job Title:
Mainframe Systems Administrator


Location:
Oaktown, IN


Duties:


  • Install, customize, and maintain mainframe operating systems and other vendor software products to support Registry functions in a z/VM Z/VSE-VSEn and network environment.
  • Analyze and implement appropriate measures for software/hardware requirements and problem resolution.
  • Implement systems security plans, policies, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Provide additional system programming services, including coding, testing, debugging, documentation, backup/restore strategies and implementations, and Disaster Recovery implementations, testing, and procedures development.
  • Assist and guide operations and programming staff.
  • Provide information and instructions related to maintenance and service processes.
  • Run system backups.
  • Provide ongoing optimization and problemsolving support to minimize system interruptions in a missioncritical environment.

Requirements:


Conditions of Employment:

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A oneyear probationary period may be required.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all preemployment checks in accordance with AR 2153, para.2, including a Tier III background investigation.

Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of IT security systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of installation and maintenance of z/VM, z/VSE, CICS, TCP/IP, VTAM, Power, JCL, COBOL, REXX,
