Essential Functions

Deal Support: Log and complete analytical requests from the business to support work on active deals and/or pitches
Research: Work from a template and utilize existing ES partnerships with third party data providers , Oxford Economics, etc.) in collaboration with Data Scientist to produce research papers/projects with a goal of two research projects and two technical projects every year
Create unique data sets and store those data sets in Snowflake data warehouse
Aid in training and adoption on existing and developing business intelligence tools
Help in creating data science portion of curriculum for the new analyst program

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's in mathematics, statistics, data analytics, data science or another quantitative field

Skillset of a traditional financial or capital markets analyst

Strong programming background and willingness to learn new skills as related to computer science, programming, and mathematics
Willingness to learn CRE and investment banking sector specific knowledge
Two years experience in a data or technical role

Experience, Skills, and Competencies Required

Coding and Technical Skills

Moderate to strong Python and SQL
Knowledge of enterprise level architecture and best practices for deployment within a managed or governed environment
Some knowledge of/experience in machine learning
Azure (preferable but not required)
Snowflake
Excel (general skills)

Other Duties

As this role evolves and the ES Data Science Practice evolves, we will begin to explore and implement additional concepts such as general and advanced machine learning, the utilization and pointing of generative AI (think Retrieval Augmented Generation), and some systems engineering such as simulation.
