The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research center in Germany. With over 3,000 employees, we conduct an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

To strengthen our Next-Generation Sequencing Core Facility, we are looking for a technical assistant (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

As a core facility within the German Cancer Research Center, we work on a variety of national and international projects and are constantly striving to establish and improve the latest technologies in our laboratories.

Our sequencing unit is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Europe. We perform sequencing on Illumina NovaSeq and NextSeq systems, as well as devices from Oxford Nanopores.

Your tasks:

Preparation of DNA and RNA samples for highthroughput sequencing (library prep) including subsequent quality control
Documentation of results in the department's internal database
Maintaining QC reports
Assisting in maintaining and improving the quality management system (e.g. writing SOPs)
Assisting in other areas of the department such as sample reception, sequencing, and R&D as needed
