"We are training parquet installers at Conning Towers Nautilus Park. The tasks of this profession are carried out at constantly changing work locations/sites - new buildings or old buildings - renovations. Here, surface preparations are carried out, such as filling work. The main tasks of the parquet installer include laying parquet, carpet and PVC flooring.

In theory, you will learn:

  • Getting to know different types of flooring and work materials
  • Practicing calculations
  • Wood knowledge and laying patterns
  • Quality control
  • Occupational safety

In practice, you will:

  • Cut, glue and lay flooring
  • Fill, sand and clean subfloors
  • Measure rooms and calculate material requirements
  • Create room sketches and laying plans
  • Clean and maintain floors
  • Create insulation
  • Interact with customers

Your profile:

  • Your strengths should include manual dexterity, spatial imagination, calculation skills for determining material requirements, and attention to detail.
