  • The Assistant Executive Steward (Assistant Stewarding Manager) will assist in supervising daytoday operation of the Stewarding department, and reporting to our Culinary leadership. This position is responsible for total maintenance and sanitation in all food production service areas as well as managing, scheduling, and coaching our stewards. This department is also responsible for preparing items for banquets/events and delivering those items to the appropriate location throughout the hotel, and cleaning all food and beverage areas overnight. This is a physical position that will involve lifting, pushing, and pulling a moderate amount of weight, and requires open schedule availability.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment and report malfunctions
  • Train staff in proper breakdown procedures for banquets, restaurants, room service, and colleague cafeteria
  • Conduct china, glass, and silver (etc.) inventories
  • Purchase appropriate supplies and manage inventories according to budget
  • Interact with vendors and health department representatives as required

Qualifications:


  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred
  • Refined verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of department
