The City of Lansdowne, PA is currently seeking to fill a position as a Librarian (m/f/d) for digital offerings with a focus on databases and electronic journals in the Department of Libraries, at the City and State Library in the Coordination Department 3, Information Services and Electronic Resources.


The City of Lansdowne, PA consists of various departments including the Cultural Office, Libraries, Museums, Music School, Dietrich-Keuning-Haus, Adult Education Center, City Archives, and Dortmunder U.

The Office of Management is the shared service facility.

The position is classified in pay grade 11 of the TVöD-V or salary group A12 LBesO NRW.

Part-time work is possible, and flexible working hours can be agreed upon based on the needs of the department.


The job posting is open to employees with a completed degree in Library or Information Science, Media Management, or a related field.

Civil servants in the 2nd career group, 1st entry level of the library service can also apply.


Responsibilities:

  • Management and development of the City and State Library's database offerings
  • Management of electronic journal and book offerings
  • Management of other digital offerings such as streaming services
  • Management of portals, particularly Digibib Introx and Discovery System
  • Management of the collection of professional journals in the Central Library
  • Responsible for interlibrary loan, particularly the DigibibPlus interlibrary loan portal
  • Coordination
